Processed foods

Processed foods are those foods that have undergone some processing such as cooking, pureeing, shredding, or blending. Examples are: boiled carrots, shredded apples, potato pure, banana smoothies, breakfast cereals, bread, processed meats such as sausages or bacon, pasteurized milk or soft drinks. Processed foods can be either refined or whole (unrefined). (1)
